So we've gotten off to a great start this week (well, over the past three days...), and I think I was a little over-zealous to put the deadline of tonight for our first contest. So let's extend it a few days. Remember, you get one entry for following my blog then one more for each person you refer who becomes a follower. The new deadline will be Monday, July 12th at 8pm! Good luck!
And watch for more excitement over the next few days!
Welcome!

30 Free Swagbucks!
You may have read my post below about how joining Swagbucks.com can help you save a ton of money for Christmas. When you use the Swagbucks search bar, you randomly earn points that can be redeemed for gift cards and prizes (my favorite is the Amazon e-gift card). I usually earn about 40 per day just by checking out the sites I normally review each day! Well, I just learned that everyone who starts a new account gets 30 swagbucks deposited to start you off! It's a great deal! On Friday I'll remind you about Mega Swagbucks day--each Friday we have the chance to earn many more Swagbucks than usual, so it's a great day to search! Get started now by clicking here or on the banner!
Don't Throw Out Your South Valley Journal!
I just did something I don't normally do--I opened the South Valley Journal and read it! I'm glad I did. If you received on this morning, make sure to check out the coupon on the back page. It's a special offer from the South Jordan Sam's Club for an open house that includes a free Rotisserie chicken and the chance to get a $20 Sam's Club gift certificate when you join within 30 days of the open house!
Do you have a Sam's Club account? I used to, but I let it expire. I'm not typically a warehouse store shopper, but Sam's Club does have some amazing after-Christmas deals! It just might be time to renew!
A few details:
*Event takes place at the South Jordan location only on Saturday, July 10th from 11-5pm
*Includes a free all day pass (limitations apply)
*Food & Product Demos (free food!)
*You must present the coupon for the free chicken!
*Even if you don't join, fill up your tank for cheaper than most places and get a free chicken!

Special Occasion Coming Up? 50% off at Fleming's (Yum!) Steakhouse!
Again, no coupon needed for a great deal at Fleming's Prime Steakhouse at the Gateway. KSL.com recently started offering a daily deal for local businesses, and today's deal is definitely worth mentioning! Right now, you can buy $50 gift certificates for only $25! These deals have only lasted a few days each, so get yours right away right here!
I've been to Fleming's, and it is YUMMY! They are pretty upscale, and pricey, so plan to dress nicely for a great evening. Use this great discount for a birthday, anniversary, or just because you love your friend so much and want to take her out (hint, hint friends!!!).
A few details:
*You can purchase up to two certificates to be used together, so a $100 meal would be $50!
*Can't be used for alcohol or gratuity.
*Certificates expire on August 31, 2010, so you'll need to plan to use them soon.
*Valid at the Salt Lake location only!

What's a Beer Rebate?
Have you heard people talking about beer rebates and wondered what they are? I know the first time I heard about them, I totally tuned out. I don't drink, so I immediately thought that beer rebates had nothing to do with me. Wrong!!! (Right, Renee?) Beer rebates are an amazing way to save a ton of money on many items, including some that never have coupons available for them, like produce, meat and deli items. Do I have your attention yet? How about if I mention that I've earned over $150 in one month using beer rebates? Sound like something that might apply to you? It sure applies to me!
Beer rebates are rebates offered by beer companies to encourage customers to purchase other items at the stores that retail their products. The great thing about Utah (and these states AL, AR, CT, HI, IN, KY, ME, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OK, WV), is that by law a beer purchase cannot be required to use applicable beer rebates! That means that if you must buy beer plus $20 in meat to get $10 back (for example), in "no beer purchase required" states like those listed above, you only have to buy the meat to get the rebate! This provides an amazing way to save a ton of money! Keep in mind that new rebates come out all the time, so there are usually quite a few out each month to take advantage of.
How do you get beer rebates? Well, that's the tricky part. As more people learn about them, they become harder to find. They used to be posted in pretty obvious places (like on beer displays) at grocery stores. However, there are many beer rebate bandits who take whole pads of rebates from the store, leaving little or nothing for the rest of us. So sometimes the store isn't the best place to look. However, it's always worth checking with customer service, the meat counter and the deli counter to ask about rebates. Some people will have no clue what you're talking about, but sometimes you'll hit the jackpot. Watch for displays as you walk around the store too. A few other ways to get rebates include trading with people who have rebates and buying them on eBay. Finally, tell all your friends about "So Simple to Save" to win beer rebates! I have a few extras for July and can't wait to share them with you!
So start trying out beer rebates! You'll be glad you did!

Newspaper Subscriptions for 50% Less Than I Pay!!!
I've been waiting for two days to post this info to make sure I could speak with someone at the newspaper to verify all the details. So here goes--the best deal I've ever seen on the paper, and even half the price of what I pay! Right now, you can get the Salt Lake Tribune and/or the Deseret News (up to two copies each) for only $19.99 per paper for the whole year! I pay $39 per paper for the same deal, so this is really amazing! I haven't seen this advertised anywhere else yet, so you heard it first here! If you don't already get the paper, this is a great way to get many coupons for very cheap! Order two copies for two sets of coupon inserts, three for three and four for four (I get four).
A few details for you:
1. This offer is only available to new subscribers or those who haven't had a subscription within the past six months. Hint here: ask a neighbor if you can get the paper at their house if you want this deal but don't qualify. I'm seriously considering that option myself!
2. This is a pre-pay only offer. So you have to pay the full $19.99 per paper when you sign up.
3. This is for Friday-Sunday papers delivered to your home and Sunday-Saturday e-edition access online. An email must be provided for the e-edition access.
4. This promotion code must be given to secure the discounted price "52/201".
5. To order, just go to www.mediaoneutah.com or call 801-204-6100, and don't forget to tell them you found out on "So Simple to Save"!
