$3.99 Papa Murphy's Deal Today and Tomorrow Only!

Update:  I went to purchase pizzas last night and was pleasantly surprized that our store allowed substitutions for only $1!  So I got a white sauce large with chicken for only $4.99!  Ask at your store if you want something besides pepperoni!

It's Customer Appreciation Days at Papa Murphy's!  Today and tomorrow you can pick up a large pepperoni pizza for $3.99!  There's no coupon required and a limit of three pizzas, but what an inexpensive dinner!  I've also heard that these freeze really well too!  Just ask them to "double wrap" your pizza for freezing.  I personally think that Papa Murphy's has some of the best pizza around, so I'll be stocking up!

Use Your Head (Not Just Coupons) to Save Money!

So today I decided that I needed to grab some lunch on the go for my daughter and I.  We had been to several Smith's stores to use our final "round up" coupons, and we were hungry.  So we stopped by In-n-Out for a burger.  As I sat there looking at the order board, I considered how to spend the least amount.  Then I had an epiphany!!!  I didn't want a soda, but there were the combos, just calling out, "buy me!  I'm simple--just use the number!"  But I took an extra moment and thought about how to save money.  Again, I didn't want a soda, and my two year-old daughter  wasn't going to eat much, so I tried something different.  I ordered a la carte.  One cheeseburger, one hamburger and an order of fries.  The grand total?  $5.55.  What if I had done the "easy" thing and ordered the combo plus an extra burger?  Well, the price would have been closer to $7.00.  So lesson learned:  use your head when making a purchase.  Just because things are "packaged" a certain way doesn't mean that is the least expensive option.  If we just pay a little more attention, we can save lots of money without much effort.  (Of course, I would have saved all that money if we just had lunch at home, but the convenience today was worth every penny!!!)

A Few Freebies

I've done a dismal job of posting this weekend, but I'm going to work on doing better.  For now, here are a few freebies I've come across after reviewing the coupon inserts that came today.  (If you don't get the paper, watch for an amazing deal soon!  And meanwhile, call a few stores to see if they have any left from today that they'll hold for you!!!)

The P&G insert has coupons for Colgate toothbrushes and toothpaste that can be rounded up at Smith's through Tuesday for free items!

Also, the Smart Source insert has a Gain coupon that can be paired with the Rite Aid sale price of $.89 (or price matched at Target or Walmart) to make for free dish soap too!  (Thanks, Utah Deal Diva!)

Don't forget about the Bounty coupon in the P&G insert too--use it at the round up sale at Smith's on the Bounty Basics single roll for $.09 paper towels!

And both the Ivory and Zest coupons in the P&G insert are bound to make for cheap-to-free soap during the round up event!

So what do we learn from this?  The newspaper contains a goldmine of coupons!!!  Can you imagine if you had four copies of the coupons in today's paper???  You could stock up on toothbrushes, toothpaste, paper towels, soap, dish soap--all for pretty much free!  Wow!  Again, I hope to be posting a great newspaper deal in the next few days, so watch for it!  And meanwhile--get those coupons clipped so you can save big!

And a Quick Giveaway!

I had a couple of great readers give me a few beer rebates that expire at the end of this month, and I want to give them out!  (Remember that in many states, including Utah, no beer purchase is required to use these rebates!!!)  Just leave a comment on this post with which type you prefer to enter.  I have quite a few beef, seafood, poultry, and pork rebates that are for August, but you have until mid-September to submit them.  I'll be sure to email you to let you know what  you need to purchase by Aug. 30 or 31st to qualify for the rebate, then you can send it in when you receive it.  Easy peasy!  Just keep your receipt, and you'll be good to go with the rebate form.

This contest ends Monday at noon so I can get them out to you!  Get entered now!

Super Simple Savings at Smith's!

How about an 85% savings???!!!  That's the kind of receipt that awaits you this week at Smith's (if you pay a little attention to what you buy).  I went in today with my low-value coupons in-hand and was excited to find many of the things I wanted.  Keep in mind that all of these deals (except the Hefty bags and toothbrushes) were made possible by coupons from my newspaper subscriptions.  However, the savings that I got just from this purchase would pay for TWO FULL SUBSCRIPTIONS for one year!!!  That's right--I saved almost $40!  My grand total was just over $8!  So pull out those low-value coupons and get to Smith's!  Let us know what you find--send pics--I'd love to post your deals!
